I am a US citizen (and 17 year old boy) who lately has been doing alot of thinking about his future. I already know that I want to get into Psychiatry and preferably go to school in northern california (I live in San Diego, just for reference) but after getting my degree and all of that I would love to move to Australia and eventually gain citizenship as I've been there and loved it there, but the process/rules are confusing to me and I have a few questions: 1) Is a Psychiatry degree transferable to australia so I can still work there? 2) Would it just be easier to go to school in Australia? 3) How long do I have to live in australia before I can be granted citizenship? 4) I'm aware of the Permanent Resident requirement (my family doesn't have australian citizenship) but does that mean I have to live in Australia permanently (aside from short trips out of the country)? 5) After obtaining citizenship, should I choose to move back to the states/anywhere else, could my citizenship be revoked? Any other info/personal experiences are greatly appreciated! Thanks All!... Read More »
